I started this site, To Eat Pray Love just under a year ago now, with the intention of bringing God’s word and prayer into the realm of blogging about healthy recipes. I love baking and cooking, making delicious recipes healthier and easy to make, and serving others through hospitality and good food! But good food (and event exercise, sleep and stress management) alone will not give you a whole life; you need Jesus.
Goals of To Eat Pray Love
My goals of expanding this site to reach women where they are with ideas for good food and devotion in the word of God have ebbed and flowed over the past few months as my husband and I moved to a new town and I continued my quest for an anti-depressant-free, healthy, stress-free life. Going from more than two hours in my car commuting every day to just a ten minute drive to work has left me with less stress and more time. Meanwhile, my husband and I have been drawn nearer to God through the Word and are excited to seek Him more fervently as we learn more about keeping Torah and the Festivals of the Lord throughout the year. I’m sure I will writing of these things in the days to come.
Mostly, I would like to have newsletter posts sent out that include a healthy recipe (Eat), a daily devotion (Pray), and a reminder of the our standing in the Lord through the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Love: We know love because He first loved us – 1 John 4:19). In the past, I was writing articles that fit into specific categories, either Eat, Pray, or Love, but I’m thinking now that my focus was more on content creation and expanding my site than it was about reaching people for Jesus. Forgive me :). The great news is that God is good, and the grace and mercy to restart and continue on this journey, no matter where it takes me and you, is still fresh.
I am learning so much about sustaining an Internet blog, and have very little understanding of how the newsletter plugins work. Hopefully we can get that straightened out in the days and weeks to come, but until then, please bear with me! I am also excited to share any testimonies or guest blogs that you or a friend may be interested in sharing, so please reach out and contact us if you’d like to contribute (thanks so much to my friend Jessica for contributing already!).
My goal for these posts and “To Eat Pray Love” is to eventually publish a recipe book devotional “To Eat Pray Love” that includes weekly devotionals and new recipes to try. We’ll see what happens.
Thank you for coming with me on this journey! I’m looking forward to learning more about you, about cooking and healthy eating, and about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through this site. I hope it is as much a blessing to you as it is to me.
